Under the debt based mutual funds - there exist category of short term and ultra short term . i wish to know which among these normally perform better and why ?

In general, Short Term Funds gives higher returns as compared to Ultra Short Term Funds. This is because Short Term Funds hold papers with longer maturity than the Ultra Short Term Funds.But Ultra Short Term Funds will be more liquid than Short Term Funds.
